Max Holloway’s BMF Triumph: Inside His Spectacular Victory at UFC 300
Max Holloway owns a BMF certification. And a bit more after that.
Introduction: Max Holloway’s Historic Moment
At UFC 300 on Saturday, the former featherweight champion of the UFC defeated fan favorite Justin Gaethje to earn the promotion’s symbolic “BMF” belt in the most ludicrous method possible. Shortly after winning by unanimous decision, Holloway gestured to the middle of the Octagon and urged Gaethje to surge toward the buzzer.
Unprecedented Triumph: Holloway’s Victory
Not only was it Knockout of the Year, but it was also maybe the most spectacular knockout in the UFC’s thirty-one-year history.
Holloway left Gaethje face down on the mat, unconscious, and fled with a yell of anguish. It was a career-defining moment for one of the most successful fighters in UFC history, and the obvious highlight of the widely anticipated night, even though two title matches were scheduled.
Holloway’s Ambitions: Seeking Further Challenges
Taking advantage of the circumstance, Holloway sought a title bout between current featherweight champion Ilia Topuria and lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
“Hey everyone, it’s me! I am him. stated Holloway. “El Matador is fleeing for his life, escaping from the bull.” It’s time to submit the transaction undersigning. Hawaii, Spain, or somewhere else. Islam as well. I thought Islam was famed for its capacity to reject 45ers. It’s me, him. Here I am, exactly.”
“I’m a gladiator; any weight will do. It doesn’t concern me. Sign on the dotted line, whoever comes next, and let’s get it.”
In addition, Holloway demanded a $600,000 bonus for his services. It’s impossible to argue he didn’t deserve it.
Rise to Prominence: Holloway’s Journey at UFC 300
After winning, #MaxHolloway chased stardom at UFC 300. For the second time in his career, Holloway, 32, climbed up to lightweight and showed signs of his previous self. He outhit Gaethje in every round by simply traveling at a different tempo. After the first round, Gaethje’s nose was pouring blood, and he was just unable to keep up with the fight’s tempo.
The Fight: Holloway’s Dominance
Holloway opened the opening round with an exclamation point and maintained a good lead throughout. The bell rang when the former champion sent Gaethje flying with a spinning backheel that slapped his nose. Gaethje looked to be in agony and massaged his nose continuously during the breaks between rounds, signaling that a break was conceivable.
Holloway got a chance to fight an ailing opponent in the second round, but it didn’t go well. Gaethje was stung in the left eye by Holloway, who then struck him in the right eye a few minutes later with a thumb. Luckily, Gaethje persevered throughout both timeouts, becoming one of the few athletes on the UFC roster to lose a bout solely merely on an eye poke.
Throughout the third and most of the fourth rounds, Holloway’s hits simply kept coming. Before Gaethje suddenly floored him and put him on his heels for the rest of the final round, the UFC’s all-time leader in major strikes was putting on a clinic.
Final Showdown: Holloway’s Bold Move
But Holloway made it through. Throughout the fifth round, he had the decision victory in the palm of his hand. However, he opted to take a chance and enter a phone booth beside one of the most dangerous knockout artists in the promotion.
To the joy of the audience and the detriment of Gaethje’s mind, it was pure, unadulterated MMA excellence.
