Exclusive Insider Scoop: Taylor Swift’s All-Star Beach Double Date Sparks Speculation!

Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper joined Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for a double date that went down well during a recent beach trip in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

The new all-star team is established.

Travis Kelce’s Close Ties with Taylor Swift’s Inner Circle

The 34-year-old pair recently enjoyed a sumptuous double date with Taylor Swift’s best friend Gigi Hadid and the model’s boyfriend Bradley Cooper, illustrating how close Travis Kelce has become to Taylor Swift’s inner circle.

The three spent time together in the upscale coastal resort of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, according to Travis’ mother Donna Kelce. Donna told People that the tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs texted her a picture of the expedition.

Taylor Swift’s New Album Drops During the Beach Getaway

And what did the pair chat about while on vacation? Firstly, there’s an invisible connection connecting Bradley and Donna. The two were due to attend a QVC conference in Las Vegas on April 24, and when the actor from A Star Is Born showed up, Donna welcomed him and playfully stated, “Travis told me you were going to be here,” the publication said.

However, it’s unlikely that talk about the convention was limited to that; Taylor’s record-breaking Tortured Poets Department album—which, yes, seems to give nods to the NFL star on the songs “So High School” and “The Alchemy”—was released concurrently with Travis and Taylor’s vacation with Gigi, 29, and Bradley, 49.

Furthermore, Donna said that she has listened to the entire album in its entirety, even though Travis and Gigi—who have been acquainted with the Grammy winner for 10 years—have not yet commented publicly about the new song.

“When it was released, I listened to it nonstop,” she claimed to People. “I was just very impressed. She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.”

Friends and Fans React to Taylor’s Emotional New Tracks

And there’s another member of Taylor’s crew who can’t get the feels.

According to Pal Keleigh Teller, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” had a tremendous emotional impact on her. “As a friend, this one hurts so much,” she said in a comment on her TikTok dated April 19. On stage, sad or happy, she goes; it’s so incredible.

“Fortnight” (with Post Malone): Taylor Swift and Post Malone unite on the first song of TTPD, which talks about a “temporary” affair that lasted for a fortnight, or two weeks.

Album Insights and Inspirations

“The Tortured Poets Department”: The album’s titular track, “The Tortured Man Club,” actually contains allusions to Matty, despite fans’ prior remarks relating the album’s name to Joe’s WhatsApp group chat.

The song’s lyrics indicate, “And I love you, it’s ruining my life.” “I touched you, for only a fortnight.”

The song seems to be a reference to Taylor’s affair with Matty Healy of The 1975, which she revived in 2014 and then continued in the spring of 2023 after parting from Joe Alwyn.

And these lyrics imply that even though Taylor and Matty’s romance was short-lived, it was brimming with passion.

“Fatalistic” is how she defined the opening song on the “tragic” album, according to iHeartRadio.

Taylor’s lyrics also contain parallels to Charlie Puth, singer-songwriter Patti Smith, and poet Dylan Thomas, stating things like “you’re not DyEven the opening line of the song, “You left your typewriter at my apartment,” references to Matty, who claimed in a 2019 GQ interview that he “really” adores typewriters.

The song’s subsequent lyrics give greater information on Taylor and Matty’s strong friendship. At dinner, my ring is taken off my middle finger and put on the one people put wedding rings on, Taylor recalls, in fact. And that’s the closest my heart has come to exploding.
lan Thomas” and “I’m not Patti Smith.” “You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.”

The Secret Romance Unveiled: Inside Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s Secluded Relationship

“My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”: Taylor sings, “I’m queen of sandcastles he destroys,” in reference to her ex-partner. The song is the third one on the album.

“Because I knew too much / There was danger in the heat of my touch,” the note adds in the lyrics. “Saw forever so he smashed it up.”

It’s about the denial that the romance can’t return to that. The Grammy winner told iHeartRadio that the song is a “metaphor from the perspective of a child’s toy,” where the kid smashes the item and doesn’t want to play with it anymore—just like in relationships, where “we’re so valued in the beginning.”

In the song “Cruel Summer,” from 2019, she made a parallel between lovers and toys, saying, “Bad, bad boy, shiny toy with a price / You know that I bought it.”

“Down Bad”: Taylor sings about getting abandoned by a man she refers to as her “twin” after falling in love with him in the song’s lyrics.

“How dare you think it’s romantic / Leaving me safe and stranded,” she croons. “Cause f–k it, I was in love / So f–k you if I can’t have us.”

Taylor Swift fans would recall the word “stranded” from Taylor’s 1989 song “New Romantics”: “Please leave me stranded / It’s so romantic.”

Taylor added on iHeartRadio that “Down Bad” is comparable to an extraterrestrial abduction, with the girl being “dropped back off” in her hometown and her missing the other “weird” world. The notion is defined as the “idea of being love bombed—where someone rocks your world and dazzles you and then kind of abandons you—as an alien abduction,” the speaker stated.

“I’ve just been exposed to a whole different galaxy and universe I didn’t know was possible,” Taylor added. “How can you just put me back where I was before?”

“So Long, London”: Taylor has a reputation for keeping her most poignant tracks for track five, and “So Long, London” certainly qualifies.

In this song, Taylor regrets the split with Joe (who provided as the idea for “London Boy”) and the moments they spent together in the city throughout the years. She also gives indications concerning the causes behind their relationship’s breakup.

Singing, “I didn’t opt-in to be your odd man out,” “I founded the club she’s heard great things about / I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath.”

“But Daddy I Love Him”: Taylor attracted flak for spending time with Matty, who has been under fire for his contentious views over the years. In “But Daddy I Love Him,” she tackles a comparable theme of wishing a partnership to succeed in spite of external criticism.

“No, I’m not losing my mind,” she adds. “I know it’s crazy but he’s the one I want.”

“Fresh Out the Slammer”: Taylor seemed to know just who she wanted to contact after terminating a long engagement with Joe: Matty.

Singing, “I did my time,” she says. “Now pretty baby I’m running back home to you.”

“Florida!!!” (with Florence and the Machine): How do you go away when you need to? Go to Florida. In any case, Taylor and Florence Welch praise it in this song.

Taylor sings, “You can beat the heat if you beat the charges too / They said I was a cheat, I guess it must be true,” referencing to suspicions floating about her personal life. “And my friends, all smell like weed or little babies / And the city reeks of driving myself crazy.”

The words then go on, “I need to forget, so take me to Florida.” “I’ve got some regrets, I’ll bury them in Florida.”

According to Taylor, genuine crime stories about individuals fleeing their area served as the idea for the song.

She said to iHeartRadio, “I always watch Dateline because people have these crimes that they commit. Where do they go right away after skipping town? They visit Florida, as you may know. They enjoy trying to change who they are, adopt a new identity, and fit in. Additionally, I believe that after experiencing heartbreak, there is a part of you that says, “I want a new name, a new life, and I don’t want anyone to know who I am or where I’ve been.”

Is there one last “Florida!!!” secret? The song was co-written by Taylor’s pal Emma Stone.

The opening of Taylor’s song “Guilty as Sin?” is “Drowning in the Blue Nile / He sent me downtown lights.” This is allegedly another tribute to Matty; in 2022, Matty rated The Blue Nile’s Hats as one of his best albums of the 1980s.

In the emotional song “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” Taylor addresses her detractors. “Is it a wonder I broke? Let’s hear one more joke,” she sings. “Then we could all just laugh till I weep.”

“I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”: Taylor sings about her belief that she could change someone’s life, even in the face of naysayers.

“The smoke cloud billows out his mouth like a freight train through a small town,” she croons. “The jokes that he told across the bar were revolting and far too loud.”

The lyrics continue on, “They shake their heads saying, ‘God, help her,’ when I tell ’em he’s my man.” “But your good lord doesn’t need to lift a finger / I can fix him, no, really, I can / And only I can.”

“Loml”: Taylor first sings of being called the love of someone’s life “about a million times” in this touching ballad, but things swiftly changed around.

“If you know it in one glimpse, it’s legendary,” she adds. “What we thought was for all time was momentary.”

She informs the audience at the song’s conclusion, “You’re the loss of my life.”

Lyrics like “rekindled flames” and “we were just kids, babe” hint it’s about her spark with Matty after all these years, even if it might be about her extended romance with Joe: “I’ve felt a glow like this never before and never since.”

“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”: Taylor sings that she’s “hittin’ my marks” on stage in front of a chanting crowd, appearing prepared to rock her Eras Tour despite the heartache. She puts on a brave face and adds, “Lights, camera, bitch smile,” to mask her sentiments.

This song is energetic, yet the words are all about unrequited love.

“I’m so obsessed with him, but he avoids me like the plague / I cry a lot, but I am so productive, it’s an art,” she croons. “You know you’re good when you can even do it with a broken heart.”

“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”: Taylor is intrigued about “the smallest man who ever lived,” who abruptly stopped their relationship.

“You kicked out the stage lights, but you’re still performing,” she adds. “And in plain sight you hid / But you are what you did.”

“The Alchemy”: Following his departure from “the clowns,” Taylor linked with a Chiefs player. In “The Alchemy,” Taylor references to different sports, possibly as an homage to her lover, NFL star Travis Kelce.

“I haven’t come around in so long / But I’m coming back strong,” Taylor shouts out. “So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team.”

Later, she refers about her previous “blokes,” claiming that they “warm the benches,” and that “we been on a winning streak.”

“Clara Bow”: Taylor’s friendship with the late actress Clara Bow, whose life was also the subject of much speculation and investigation, is detailed in the lyrics of the album’s closing tune.

Taylor’s song, “It’s hell on earth to be heavenly,” “Them’s the brakes, they don’t come gently.”

The lyrics call attention to the similarities drawn between well-known women, referencing Clara, Stevie Nicks, and Taylor among them.

The lyrics also add, “You look like Taylor Swift / In this light, we’re loving it,” as if they were a direction to the next superstar in line. “You’ve got edge, she never did / The future’s bright, dazzling.”

“The Black Dog”: Singing, “I am someone who, until recent events / You shared your secrets with / And your location / You forgot to turn it off / And so I watch as you walk into some bar called The Black Dog / And pierce new holes in my heart,” the artist laments the lack of intimacy she now has with her ex.

By comparing an ensemble Taylor wore in a behind-the-scenes video of her recording the song to an outfit she wore out in New York on May 18, 2023, fans theorize that she is expressing her grief after her breakup with Joe. This suggests Taylor wrote the song before her breakup with Matty was made public in June 2023.

“thanK you aIMee”: Following his surprise arrival at 2 a.m. With a double record that comprised 15 additional songs by Tortured Poet, Swifties recognized Kim Kardashian from the tune “thanK you aIMee.”

Taylor sings, “And it wasn’t a fair fight, or a clean kill / Each time that Aimee stomped across my grave,” seemingly alluding to the phone call between her and Kanye West that made headlines in 2016 and that Kim revealed online. “And then she wrote headlines in the local paper, laughing at each baby step I’d take.”

“All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ something thin / And I couldn’t wait to show you it was real / Screamed “F–k you, Aimee” to the night sky, as the blood was gushin’ / But I can’t forget the way you made me heal,” the lyrics continue, hinting that Taylor is stronger today.

“So High School”: It appears that Taylor likens her romantic history with Travis to a delightful high school romance.

She sings, “Are you going to marry, kiss, or murder me?” “It’s only a game, but actually I’m bettin’ on all three for us two.”

In a now-viral flashback video, Taylor, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande were encouraged to play the game “kiss, marry, kill” with Travis. (He vowed to marry Katy and kiss Taylor.)

Taylor also makes mention to Travis opening doors for her in “So High School,” likely referring to the evening she spent riding in a convertible with him following one of his football games. She writes, “Get my vehicle door, isn’t that sweet? Then take me to the backseat.”

Not to add this little pearl of wisdom: “I know Aristotle; you know how to ball.”

“Cassandra”: The ancient Greek clairvoyant Cassandra served as the inspiration for this song. In the words of the Brooklyn Museum, “The god Apollo, enamored of her, granted her the power of prophecy but, when she rejected him, sabotaged that power with a curse that no one would believe her predictions.”

Taylor appears to be singing about how she revealed one of her adversaries to the world and thinks that they have all uncovered the person’s real character.

“So, they killed Cassandra first ’cause she feared the worst,” she croons. “And attempted to notify the town / So they filled my cell with snakes, I regret to report / Do you believe me now?”

“I Look in People’s Windows”: This song conveys the agonizing sense of missing a previous love. She sings in the chorus, “I look in people’s windows / In case you’re at their table / What if your eyes looked up and met mine / One more time.”

The song “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” which she composed in 2019, reminds me of her bemoaning “I look through the windows of this love / Even though we boarded them up / Chandelier’s still flickering here / ‘Cause I can’t pretend it’s ok when it’s not.”

“The Prophecy”: Taylor, perhaps after her separation from Joe, begs the divine to grant her a new lover.

As the lyrics state, “I’ve been on my knees / Change the prophecy,” “Don’t want money / Just someone who wants my company / Let it once be me.”

Because she included an Easter Egg for “The Prophecy” in the “Karma” music video, which dropped on May 26, 2023—before her breakup with The 1975 musician—fans think the song cannot be about Matty. Taylor even corroborated the Easter Egg by appreciating a fan tweet about the connection.

In the video, Taylor portrays a golden statue who nods in response to the passage from “Prophecy” that states, “But even statues crumble if they’re made to wait.”

“Peter”: She sings about a man who vowed to “grow up” and “come find” her when their lives just began. Fans were alerted to the potential that Peter is actually Matty’s pen name, though, by one indication regarding Peter’s age.

“And you said you’d come and get me, but you were 25,” Taylor shouts out. “And the shelf life of those fantasies has expired.”

Taylor’s Support System

In reality, Matty was approximately 25 years old in 2014 when the two grew close and he made news for wearing a 1989 T-shirt to show support for Taylor.

As an homage to Peter Pan, the Peter in this song is possibly the same Peter that appears in 2020’s “Cardigan” (“Peter losing Wendy”).

The words of her new composition, “Lost to the ‘Lost Boys’ chapter of your life,” were read. “Forgive me, Peter, please know that I tried.”

Not quite sure that Matty is THE Peter? Taylor mouthed the sentence “This one is about you. You know who you are. When “Cardigan” was being played live as part of the Eras Tour in May 2023, the pair exclaimed “I love you” and started dating.

“The Manuscript”: Since she sings of an age gap (they are 9 and 12 years older than she is, respectively), the lyrics could hint to her romance with Jake Gyllenhaal or John Mayer.

Taylor sings, “She thought about how he said since she was so wise beyond her years / Everything had been above board / She wasn’t sure.” She later adds, “In the age of him, she wished she was 30 / She wished she was thirty years old, in his age range, and brewed coffee in a French press every morning.”

She turned the ballad into a short film, which she seems to allude to in “The Manuscript”: “Then the actors / Were hitting their marks / And the slow dance / Was alight with the sparks / And the tears fell / In synchronicity with the score.” One major theory is that she wrote “The Manuscript” while revising “All Too Well,” which is thought to be about Jake, to record the 10-minute version for 2021’s Red (Taylor’s Version).

In addition, the lyrics relate to a statement Taylor frequently makes regarding “All Too Well,” specifically that she feels the song has moved from being about her romance to being more about her fans: “Now and then I reread the manuscript / But the story isn’t mine anymore.”
