Photographs of Devastation in Malibu and Pacific Palisades


Smoldering beachfront properties. Charred cars. A Starbucks patio destroyed. A kid’s playhouse in a burn-scarred yard. A firefighter at paintings.

Those are some of the searing photographs captured on Jan. 10 in spaces of Malibu and Pacific Palisades devasted by way of the wildfire hurricane that ignited on Jan. 7. The inferno has been fueled by way of Santa Ana winds of unparalleled energy. The photographs that practice underscore the enormity of the loss and the lengthy highway forward to restoration.
