“Marvel Studios Reveals Fantastic 4 Cast Members”

Meet the Cast

Cast members Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (the Thing) will bring their unique superhero personalities to life in this ensemble cast. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were the original inventors of these four characters for Marvel Comics.

Release Dates and Villain

As part of the casting announcement, Disney has adjusted the release dates of “The Fantastic Four” (now slated for May 2, 2025) and “Thunderbolts” (now set for July 25, 2025).

Victor von Doom, one of the most renowned and dangerous villains in the Marvel mythos, is yet to be cast.

As usual with Marvel, narrative specifics remain scarce. But in the books, the Fantastic Four are astronauts who are rebuilt into superheroes when they’re exposed to cosmic rays in space.

Reed acquires the power to stretch his body to inconceivable lengths. Sue, Reed’s girlfriend (and future wife), can control light to go invisible and build massive forcefields. Johnny, Sue’s brother, can turn his body into fire which gives him the power to fly. And Ben, Reed’s best pal, has turned into, well, a Thing, with enormous, orange boulders for a body, giving him great power — and a perpetual sorrowful heart at his reportedly horrible countenance.

Matt Shakman (“WandaVision,” “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”) will direct “Fantastic Four,” from a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. News of Pascal’s hiring emerged in November, but Marvel had traditionally sought to maintain a tight lid on who would portray Marvel’s initial Family, regarded largely to be among the most iconic superhero characters ever invented. Filming is anticipated to start by the summer.
