Jax Taylor Takes Major Step for Mental Health Amid Divorce
Jax Taylor Seeks In-Patient Treatment Amid Split from Brittany Cartwright
After breaking up with Brittany Cartwright not long ago, Jax Taylor is taking steps toward his mental health by entering in-patient treatment, Page Six reports this morning.
Decision for In-Patient Care
Taylor’s representative announced that he had decided in an interview on Tuesday, “Jax suffers from mental health challenges and has been especially open about it during the last few months on his podcast. At this juncture, he intends to pursue in-patient care.”
Meanwhile, “At this moment is particularly hard for him and his family. They would like some privacy when he’s ready to talk about it,” said the source.
Taylor, who has been openly struggling with mental health, broached the subject on his podcast with Cartwright, “When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.” On June 7, he shared that he had recently met a “wonderful” doctor at his bar and sobbed uncontrollably during the consultation.
“I said to her, ‘Here is what is wrong with me, and here is what I’m doing, and here is who is now hurt. I have major anger issues, and I have a kid. I don’t want him seeing this,’” Taylor said.
Trying to Make Things Work
On the podcast, Cartwright once mentioned that they were trying to “exhaust all options” before ending their marriage.
“In fact, even though He went with a true, proper separation we plan to try out some dating other people, and dates with each other,” Taylor said.
Earlier, he told Entertainment Tonight that he is “definitely working” on himself but wouldn’t say anything else. Also, he told E! News that he believes he is “on the right track” to possibly getting his wife back.
He said, “It was always meant to be a temporary retreat somehow or other.”
Challenges in the Relationship
In February, Cartwright announced on social media that they were separating from each other after almost five years of marriage. She said that after Season 1 of “The Valley” ended, their relationship worsened.
Taylor would “rage text message” and scold Cartwright for hours on end, so she moved into an Airbnb with their son Cruz. During this period, she concentrated on being the best mother possible to their 3-year-old boy.
The couple, who married in Cartwright’s home state of Kentucky in 2019, had a child last year.
