SPOILER ALERT: The following contains spoilers from the “Love Is Blind” Season 7 reunion, now streaming on Netflix.
Nearly one year after the Season 7 “Love Is Blind” cast fell in love behind a wall, the group reunited for the reunion special, which filmed this month and dropped on Oct. 30.
Starting with the positive, the two couples who tied the knot in the finale — Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans; and Tyler Francis and Ashley Adionser — are both still together and going strong. The latter went through a bit of turmoil during the season, when he told her he had three “sperm donor babies.” Since the show began streaming, Tyler has faced online backlash for not sharing the nature of his relationship with his three children as photos of them all together have been revealed. However, during the reunion, the couple cleared all of that up.
“Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this. I did help a friend and her wife start a family; her wife ended up leaving her. I stepped in voluntarily and helped,” he explained, adding that he has spent holidays with that family since, as he has with many of his friends’ families. “Ashley knows all this. This is news to the world, this has never been news to us… I don’t owe anyone an explanation but my wife and she’s sitting here with me.”
After he teared up, Ashley added that the pair had many conversations about the situation and she knew he didn’t want to share more on TV, which is why it came off as if he’d hidden things from her. In reality, he was honest, just off camera.
Marissa George and Ramses Prashad
Marissa cried recounting her relationship with Ramses, who explained that he broke up with her because their energy felt too different; he said he feared if they stayed together, he “would feel exhausted and overwhelmed.” While he said he doesn’t want to change who she is, she whispered to Hannah, “I think I hate him.”
Marissa’s mom was also in attendance, saying that she spoke to Ramses the day he dumped Marissa, and wanted to “punch him in the throat.” She said she was thankful he called it off because her daughter “would have carried that relationship.”
Later in the show, Marissa admitted to hooking up with Ramses after filming stopped.
Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka
Although Hannah stood by all of her comments made to Nick throughout the season, she did apologize for being “cruel,” getting emotional while admitting that she has been working on herself over the last year. Nick said she was getting too much hate online — but she fired back, asking him why he was liking those hateful comments on Instagram if he felt that way.
The tension continued as Hannah revealed that she found Nick’s notebook with his goals written down, including one that read, “Be the most famous person ever on ‘Love Is Blind.’” He claimed that that was one of his 90-day goals that was written “way before” he got onto the show.
“I would never sit there on camera and say I love you 100 times if I didn’t mean it. I was super genuine,” he responded. Hannah called Nick “very calculated,” revealing she heard he was saying things behind her back about her looks, and that he called her a “grenade” — but then was extremely nice when the cameras were rolling.
The segment then extended to the rest of the group as some of the men confirmed Nick did call Hannah a “grenade” to the guys, who then told their partners. Nick denied it, first saying “I never once mentioned Hannah’s looks.” Moments later, he admitted he was “underwhelmed” when seeing her.
Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson
Stephen attempted(ish) to clear the air about sexting another woman while engaged to Monica, stating that it was a woman he’d never met in person, but that he should not have “entertained the conversation.” When he shared that he wrote a letter to her parents apologizing, she got frustrated, responding, “Did you write that letter so you could say it?”
While Stephen again admitted that he messed up and has been attending therapy, “at the end of the day, nobody cares,” he said. “I understand that I completely fucked up. How much more responsibility do I have to take?”
Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee
One of the most dramatic parts of the reunion was when Alex and Tim came face-to-face for the first time in nearly a year; in fact, they hadn’t spoken since the day he told her he never wanted to see her again.
The pair broke down the major fight, which was not shown on camera but alluded to many times; she said that after he disrespected her for over an hour, she said he was “acting like a little ass bitch,” a comment that he deemed extremely rude. “Y’all ask men to take you seriously and why would you belittle me?” he asked.
Despite online claims that the fight turned physical, both stated that that did not happen but she claimed, “Production had to come in and calm you down.” She said that she “tried to protect” him throughout the show to make him look good.
The moment that ended their relationship appeared to be when she took a nap while his parents were visiting. Alex claimed that they were all together for six or seven hours and she wanted to nap for an hour before work. She also claimed that she didn’t feel too inclined to prove anything because of what happened the day befoe: Tim met her father, asked for his permission to marry Alex, then hours later, told her he had doubts.
At the end of the reunion, three new singles were introduced who will be part of Season 8, set in Minneapolis, which will be released in February.
