‘Disheartened’ Ariana Grande Apologizes to Elvira Over Awry Meeting

Elvira had named Grande as her worst celebrity encounter in a video that went viral on TikTok

Ariana Grande is apologizing to Elvira after the Mistress of the Dark described a years-old experience with the singer that didn’t go as well as expected. Commenting on an Instagram post from Elvira, or Cassandra Peterson on Monday, the Wicked star said she was “disheartened” to see Elvira call an interaction with her “disrespectful.”

Earlier this month, during a Q&A at Knott’s Berry Farm, Elvira claimed that years prior, the Dangerous Woman singer asked to bring 20 guests to one of her shows. Elvia said she met each of Grande’s friends and family and signed autographs, but Grande turned down meeting her.

“She asks if I can take pictures with all of her friends and relatives. I take a picture with every one of them… Then I say to her, ‘Can we take a photo together?’ and she goes, ‘No, I don’t really do that,’” Elvira said in the now-viral TikTok, before boos from the crowd, as she took in the public’s reaction. “Then she left before my show started. All her relatives stayed and she took off.”

In the Instagram comment, the Wicked star apologized to Elvira for the incident, claiming she didn’t recall meeting the campy horror queen, but apologized if she was “misremembering” the interaction.

“I actually don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because I had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family (this was around 7 years ago and at the time I was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places),” Grande wrote. “But if I’m misremembering this moment, I sincerely apologize for offending you so.”

Grande then went on to thank Grande for “being so nice” to her mom during the meeting. “She might have different feelings about that now but I’ll talk to her… clearly, we all have our days!” Grande wrote. “Sending love always. You’ll always be our queen of Halloween.”
